A Young Woman Commits Suicide in Kandahar

According to sources, the incident occurred yesterday, Friday (31 January), in the Sanjri village of Zhiri district. The woman, who had been married six months ago, took her own life at her husband's home.

The exact reason for her suicide is still unclear, but local sources suspect that domestic violence may have been the primary factor.

It is worth noting that since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, suicide cases, particularly among women and girls, have seen a significant increase in various parts of the country. Despair over the future, mental health issues, and domestic violence have been cited as some of the main reasons behind these suicides.
