French President: Afghan Women and Girls Must Remain Hopeful for the Future

Speaking with Radio Azadi, Macron highlighted the resilience of the Afghan people and urged the women and girls of Afghanistan to "stay hopeful for the future."

In his remarks, he said, "We have done everything we could to accommodate refugees and protect people following this [US withdrawal] decision and its consequences in Afghanistan."

The French President added, "I am also aware of how strong your people are, and I want to convey this message to the women and girls of Afghanistan to remain hopeful for the future."

Macron also emphasized that Afghan women and girls have been harmed by this decision and are paying the price daily.

This comes as the Taliban, after regaining control of Afghanistan, have imposed severe restrictions on the country's women and girls.
