Zan News: Neda Mohammad Nadeem, the Taliban's Minister of Higher Education, has declared that asking questions about girls' education and schooling is forbidden until further notice.
Today, Sunday (August 25), during a Taliban accountability program at the Media Center, Nadeem stated that none of the group's orders contradict Sharia law, and asking questions about girls' education is banned until further notice.
He added that the reopening of schools above the sixth grade and universities for girls is an issue that cannot be resolved in a few weeks or months.
According to Nadeem, religious scholars are currently researching this matter, and if their opinion is positive, the doors of schools and universities will be reopened for girls.
The Taliban Minister of Higher Education also noted, "What we are doing is in accordance with Sharia. If someone provides us with evidence based on Hanafi jurisprudence regarding girls' education, I am confident that this issue will be resolved."
Nadeem further added that if religious scholars, after conducting their research, do not permit the reopening of schools and universities, the ban on girls' education will continue.
This comes as the Taliban, after regaining control of Afghanistan, have barred girls above the sixth grade from education and prohibited female students from attending universities.
