Zan News: The Laciverd Yolu Policy and Research Center held a two-day conference titled "Critical Analysis of the Doha Process" in Ankara, Turkey, with the participation of a number of women and anti-Taliban figures.
According to the conference statement, the conference emphasized the need for meaningful participation of the Afghan people, including political movements, academic institutions, civil society activists, and women.
Participants in the meeting considered the third Doha meeting to be important and described these days as a "sensitive moment" for the fate of the Afghan people.
The statement said that the participants in the meeting emphasized that the meaningful presence of representatives of Afghan civil society in these meetings is essential to raise the demands of the Afghan people without fear of the Taliban.
The statement also said that the criteria and conditions for selecting representatives and their accountability mechanisms should also be clarified.
At the end of this two-day conference, anti-Taliban figures urged the United Nations to appoint a special representative for Afghanistan based on Security Council Resolution 2721 and to consider creating a regional and international contact group for balance.
Among the participants in the conference were Shah Gul Rezaee and Rahle Dostum, former members of the Afghan National Council, Nasir Ahmad Andisha, Afghanistan's representative in Geneva, and Fayzullah Zaki, the country's former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.
It is worth noting that UN leaders are scheduled to meet with Taliban representatives in Doha on June 30 and July 1 for a two-day conference and special representatives of countries around the world on Afghanistan.
