Two Children Drown in River in Badghis Province

According to a statement released by the Taliban police command in Badghis, the two children were from the same family and had gone to swim in the river in the village of "Chichal" in the Balamorghab district on Monday (June 3rd) when they drowned.

The Taliban police in Badghis have not released the identities or exact ages of the two children.

Local sources say that the bodies of the two children were retrieved from the river by locals and local forces and handed over to their families.

This incident comes as three sisters also drowned while washing clothes in a water reservoir in Jalalabad City, the center of Nangarhar province, a few days ago. The Taliban police spokesman in Nangarhar said the three sisters were 15, 17 and 18 years old.
