Zan News: Local sources in the Belcheragh district of Faryab province have reported that a 16-year-old girl named "Parima," who attempted suicide by consuming acid last week, has died.

According to sources, Parima was a resident of the "Koliyan" village in the Belcheragh district.

One source states that this young girl attempted suicide last Wednesday by ingesting acid and eventually passed away on Sunday (November 16) at the Balkh Provincial Hospital.

Sources have cited forced marriage as the reason behind Parima’s action, although no further details about the marriage are available.

So far, Taliban officials in Faryab province have not commented on the incident.

It is worth mentioning that forced marriages, domestic violence, psychological problems, and emotional stress due to poverty are considered the main factors contributing to suicide, especially among women and girls.
