Zan News: The World Food Programme (WFP) has warned that millions of Afghans are facing food shortages as winter approaches.
On Monday (December 16), the organization posted on its X account, stating that many vulnerable families in Afghanistan are forced to choose between providing warmth or food for their children.
Previously, the WFP reported that 14.8 million people in Afghanistan would require immediate assistance during the upcoming winter.
Meanwhile, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Afghanistan noted that out of 23 million people in need, assistance has only been provided to over 15 million in 2024.
