Zan News - Ghor: The Taliban's police command in Ghor announced that a woman and a man have been killed on charges of "adultery" in the Mohajereen Township, the center of this province.
According to a press release from this command, the two individuals were killed at noon on Monday (June 10) when the male victim went to the woman's house with the intent of committing "adultery."
The press release states that the woman's husband killed his wife and the "aggressor" man with a Kalashnikov.
The Taliban have described this killing as an "honor" crime and said that investigations are underway to clarify the case.
It has been reported that the individual accused of the killing has also been arrested by the Taliban police.
The Taliban police have not provided further details about the accused or the identities of the victims, but it has been mentioned that the male victim was 27 years old.
It is worth noting that "honor" killings sometimes claim the lives of women and girls in Afghanistan. Women and girls are killed by family members due to unproven accusations such as "adultery" or "running away from home."
