Zan News: A group of Afghan citizens residing in France held a protest rally demanding the recognition of the "Hazara genocide" in Afghanistan and the protection of this community.
During the protest, held in the French city of Toulouse on Saturday (October 5), protesters called on the United Nations to form a fact-finding commission to investigate the "Hazara genocide" in Afghanistan.
The protesters also urged the International Criminal Court to initiate investigations into the case of the Hazara genocide, identify the perpetrators of these crimes, and bring them to justice.
They requested the international community and the United Nations to take immediate and practical measures to protect the Hazara people, including the establishment of a self-protection system with international assistance and monitoring, and providing support to victims and survivors of the crimes.
The resolution adopted at the gathering also called on refugee-receiving countries to prioritize the resettlement of members of the Hazara community, given their vulnerability in Afghanistan.
This comes as the Hazara people in Afghanistan have been the target of targeted attacks for years. In the latest attack, on September 12, 14 residents of the "Qaryu Dal" village in Sangtakht-o-Bandar district of Daikundi province, on the border with Ghor, were killed by gunmen. The ISIS claimed responsibility for this massacre.
This incident sparked widespread reactions and was condemned by various countries and international organizations as an example of the Hazara genocide.
