Zan News: Local Taliban officials in Jowzjan have announced that the private organization "Hamkar" has distributed work tools to 70 women who recently graduated from vocational training courses in sewing, bag-making, and embroidery.
Abdul Wali Musafir, an official from the Taliban's Directorate of Refugees and Returnees in Jowzjan, said that on Tuesday (September 3), these women received items including work tables, irons, manual and electric sewing machines, and other sewing and embroidery tools.
He stated that the value of the donated items is approximately 2.5 million Afghanis.
Some of the women who received the tools expressed that creating job opportunities and training programs can help families achieve economic self-sufficiency.
These actions come at a time when the Taliban, since regaining control of Afghanistan, have banned women from working in government offices and private institutions, and have shut down many women-run businesses, including women's beauty salons.
