First Polio Case of the Year Recorded in Badghis

Zan News: Taliban officials at the Public Health Directorate of Badghis Province have announced the first confirmed case of polio (poliomyelitis) in the province this year.
Mohammad Yusuf Najmi, the head of the Expanded Program on Immunization in Badghis, stated on Friday (February 21) that this polio case was recorded in the "Quruto" area of the Bala Murghab district of Badghis.
According to him, the polio virus was detected in a five-year-old girl.
This comes as last year, only one environmental case of polio was recorded in Qala-e-Naw, the capital of Badghis Province.
It is worth noting that polio has not yet been completely eradicated in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
