Zan News: Karen Decker, the Chargé d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan, criticized the recent decision by the Taliban leader to close medical institutions for women, stating that this action will destroy Afghanistan's future.
On Saturday (December 7), Ms. Decker wrote on her X account that this decision is indefensible in any language, religion, or culture.
She emphasized, "The orders previously issued from Kandahar were dangerous, but this recent one will destroy the future of the country."
The U.S. Chargé d'Affaires noted that this decision will cause suffering for women and children. She added, "No more children will be born, mothers will lose their lives, and all the people of Afghanistan will be affected by it."
Karen Decker has called for the immediate revocation of this order.
Previously, Rina Amiri, the U.S. Special Representative for Afghan Women, also described the closure of medical institutions for women as part of the Taliban's efforts to completely erase women from society.
