Zan News: Local Taliban officials in Laghman province say that three young children have lost their lives as a result of a landmine explosion in the province.
Younus Yousufzai, the spokesperson for the Taliban's security command in Laghman, stated that the incident occurred before noon yesterday, Friday (31 January), in the Arina village of Alishing district.
According to Yousufzai, the children were collecting scrap metal on a mountainside when they encountered an unexploded landmine, which detonated and killed them. He emphasized that the children were 10, 11, and 13 years old.
It is worth noting that during the 20 years of the Republic era, the Taliban planted landmines across vast areas, and the explosion of these mines continues to claim the lives of a significant number of Afghan citizens each year.
