Zan News: The Lantern of Freedom Movement, in a statement issued on Sunday (December 29), has condemned the new decree from the Taliban leader regarding the construction of windows in houses, calling it an action to intensify the house arrest of women and a violation of their rights.
In the statement, houses without windows are compared to the "Saydnaya" prison in Syria, and this decision is strongly condemned.
The Lantern of Freedom Movement emphasized that this decree not only violates women’s rights but also limits the property rights and architectural freedom of the people.
They stated that this decision is a reflection of the Taliban's efforts to further isolate women from society and increase the atmosphere of oppression in Afghanistan.
The Lantern of Freedom Movement also emphasized that it will continue its struggle for the freedom of Afghan women and called on the international community, the United Nations, and human rights organizations to condemn these policies and take concrete actions to end the suppression.
This comes after the Taliban leader recently issued a decree requiring citizens to remove or wall up the windows of their homes facing their neighbors.
