Pakistan's Special Representative: Afghan Students Interested in Studying in Pakistan
January 26, 2025
Zan News
Zan News: Mohammad Sadiq, Pakistan's Special Representative for Afghanistan, states that Afghan students, both male and female, are interested in studying in Pakistan.
On Sunday (January 26), he posted pictures on X, mentioning that dozens of Afghan students participated in the "Allama Iqbal" scholarship exam held in Peshawar and Quetta.
Sadiq added that the large presence of these students at the exam centers indicates their eagerness and interest in studying in Pakistan.
This comes at a time when, after the Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan, schools and universities have been closed to female students. The Taliban have also recently issued a decree banning the education of women and girls in medical institutes.
These actions by the Taliban have been met with strong domestic and international reactions. However, the Taliban have so far refrained from changing their stance on this matter.
