Zan News: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has announced that in 2024, approximately 964,259 people across Afghanistan have benefited from primary health services provided by 47 centers supported by the organization.

According to a report released by the committee on Tuesday (February 11), 65 percent of the recipients of these services are women and children.

The Red Cross also reported that during this period, 8,788 children suffering from malnutrition were supported through the organization's nutrition programs. Additionally, 215,274 patients received necessary assistance at seven physical rehabilitation centers, and 312,371 doses of routine vaccines were administered to various individuals.

This report comes as the Taliban's restrictions on the education of women and girls in medical institutions have heightened concerns about the crisis in Afghanistan's healthcare system. In particular, the reduced presence of women in healthcare facilities could have serious implications for the delivery of services to mothers and children.
