Taliban Arrest Man in Herat for Rape and Murder of a Child

Abdul Matin Qane, spokesman for the Taliban Interior Ministry, announced this arrest today, Thursday (October 10), on his X (formerly Twitter) page.

Qane wrote that the arrested man had first abducted the girl child of one of his relatives in Anjil district of Herat and after sexually assaulting her, had killed the child in a "very heinous and merciless" manner.

Qane added that the individual was arrested in a special operation and confessed to his crime during initial investigations.

However, the Taliban Interior Ministry spokesman did not mention the exact time of the crime.
