Taliban Bans Publication of Children's Pictures on Social Media in Ghor
December 10, 2024
Zan News
Zan News: The Taliban's Directorate of Information and Culture in Ghor province has banned the publication of children's pictures on social media.
In a statement released on Monday (December 9), the Directorate stated that this decision was made based on letter number (2036) from the Taliban's Ministry of Information and Culture and the decision of the "Joint Committee of Emirate and Non-Emirate Offices in the Field of Child Protection."
According to the Taliban's Directorate of Information and Culture, some "biased media" outlets publish cases related to children in ways that harm the child's and the family's personality, putting their lives at risk.
This decision comes after the Taliban had previously banned the publication of images of living creatures under the Law of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. The Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has started enforcing this law, which has led to the shutdown of several local TV stations in various provinces.
