Taliban Flog a Woman in Faryab

Zan News: The Taliban's Supreme Court has announced that a woman was publicly flogged in Pashtun Kot district of Faryab province on charges of "running away from home."
According to a statement released by the Taliban’s Supreme Court today, Monday (December 23), the woman was flogged yesterday following a decision by the Taliban's primary court in Pashtun Kot district and the approval of the group's Supreme Court.
The statement specifies that the woman received "39 lashes" and was also sentenced to one year in prison.
Local Taliban judicial officials, authorities from various civil and military departments, and a number of ordinary people were present during the execution of this punishment.
Reports indicate that over the past two months, the Taliban have flogged 154 people, including 23 women, across various provinces of Afghanistan on various charges.
The public implementation of such punishments has sparked widespread domestic and international reactions. Human rights organizations have condemned these actions as blatant violations of human rights and human dignity, calling for the immediate cessation of such punishments.
