Zan News: Local sources report that the Taliban, under the pretext of distributing aid, have compelled several men and women in Bamyan and Ghazni provinces to protest against the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) arrest warrant.
Sources on Sunday (January 26) stated that the Taliban demanded that women heads of households and women with disabilities in Bamyan protest against the ICC’s ruling, which calls for the arrest of Taliban leaders.
According to the sources, the Taliban promised food aid to these women in exchange for their participation in the protests.
In Ghazni, the Taliban organized a gathering that was made appearance as a public demonstration. Local sources confirmed that participants in this coerced gathering chanted slogans against the ICC prosecutor and demanded the revocation of the arrest warrant for Taliban leaders.
It is worth noting that three days ago, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban leader, and Abdul Hakim Haqqani, the Chief Justice of the Taliban Supreme Court, on charges of crimes against humanity.
This action by the Taliban comes after previous incidents in Kabul, where women were forced to participate in protests against the United States under the guise of aid distribution.
