Zan News: Following the imposition of severe restrictions on women and girls, the Taliban has also banned girls above the sixth grade from attending educational courses in Herat province.
According to a letter from the Taliban's Department of Education in Herat, received by the media on Tuesday (December 24), the education of girls above the sixth grade in public and private schools, as well as in educational courses, has been banned until further notice.
Sources from the educational courses confirmed the news, stating that the letter from the Taliban's Department of Education had been sent to them, emphasizing and warning about the enforcement of this order.
The letter states that this directive is based on a decree from Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban's leader, regarding the education of girls above the sixth grade.
The Taliban in Herat have not yet made an official comment on this matter to the media.
This comes after the Taliban had also banned the education of women and girls in health institutes, a decision that has sparked widespread reactions both nationally and internationally.
