Taliban Issue License for the Resumption of Radio Begum and Radio Jawanan

The ministry stated in a release yesterday, Saturday (22 February), that these media outlets had previously been shut down due to "misuse of operational permits" and collaboration with sanctioned media.

According to the release, after the officials of these media outlets reapplied and committed to adhering to the Taliban's "policies," permits for their resumption were issued.

It is noteworthy that the Taliban had previously halted the operations of Radio Begum and detained two employees of the outlet.

Since regaining control of Afghanistan, the Taliban has extensively restricted media activities and has detained or threatened dozens of journalists.
