UNICEF Distributes Iron Tablets to Over Two Million Girls in Afghanistan

February 2, 2025

Zan News

Zan News: The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has announced that it has distributed iron tablets to 2.5 million girls in Afghanistan in 2024.

In a post on the social media platform X on Sunday (February 2), UNICEF stated that these supplements were provided to adolescent girls and women at risk of anemia.

The organization added that a daily dose of iron supplements can help prevent anemia.

This comes after UNICEF previously reported in 2023 that it had distributed iron tablets to over four million adolescent girls in Afghanistan, protecting them from anemia.
